Offered: 6 Thursday Mornings, beginning 11/01/18, no class 11/22/18, 9.30am - noon

Learn the fundamental principles of traditional drawing. Emphasis will be placed on how to be organized and have flexibility in the drawing process. These skills will translate across media and help students create any type of artwork they choose to in the future. After completing the class, students will have tools to successfully create skillful drawings, ways to make their compositions interesting and effective, and inspiration to go home and make great work on their own.

Offered: 4 Fridays, beginning 11/09/18, no class 11/23/18, 1 - 3.30pm

Color is one of the most powerful tools in an artist’s tool kit, but it can also be complex and confusing. This four-week introductory color theory class will convey the fundamentals of working with color to students. Theory and practice will be combined to understand how colors relate to each other, basic terminology, and knowledge of color schemes. Color knowledge is a must for any artist, and the lessons from this course will apply across all mediums.

ART FOUNDATIONS: DRAWING (Youth Class)

 

Ages 13 - 19

Advanced foundational classes for teens who want to pursue art, and are looking to further their skills and abilities.

 

November 6, 13, 27, Dec. 4, 11, 18 (No class 11/20, Thanksgiving week)

6 Tuesdays

4 - 6 pm

$160 members / $180 non-members

These skills will translate across media and help students to create any type of artwork they choose in the future. After completing the class, students will have tools to successfully create skillful drawings, ways to make their compositions interesting and effective, and inspiration to go home and make great work on their own.
